My top 5 EdTech tools for teaching

Today's @teachthought 30-day blogging challenge asks bloggers to list their to EdTech tools in terms of their effectiveness for teaching. Here's my list:
  1. RealtimeBoard - I use this every lesson. It is amazing and I can't believe more people haven't caught on to it.
  2. Google classroom - This is a bit of a cheat this because it's only just come out, but I'm already finding it's replacing Doctopus as my day-to-day homework management tool.
  3. Google sites - Another offering from Google. Sites are easy to make and an excellent way of organising your teaching. Here's my site.
  4. Gapminder - One for geographers, this. An invaluable tool for comparing nations. I haven't pointed pupils to the back of a paper atlas for years...
  5. IDB population pyramids - Another one for geographers. Population pyramids for any country you like now, in the past and in the future. How did we ever manage beforehand?
Bonus:
Mapfight - Couldn't resist this, which I stumbled across a little while ago. It's a bit of fun and a great way to introduce a new country to a group.
